Seaside Fire Station Seismic Rehabilitation
The Seaside Main Fire Station is a 9,740 square foot, two-story, wood frame and reinforced masonry public facility. Originally built in 1989, the rectangular building consists of offices, dining areas, training areas, sleeping rooms, hose tower, and truck apparatus bays.
The aging facility had several structural and nonstructural components that were found to be deficient in an analysis by WRK Engineers. The State of Oregon awarded the station a $1.35 million Seismic Rehabilitation Grant for necessary safety upgrades. O’Brien’s construction team is working to bring the fire station up to current standards to withstand a potential seismic event so that its vital emergency services can be provided regardless of circumstances.
