CHO Wines Tasting Room
Dave and Lois Cho, the energetic duo behind CHO Wines, are drawing a younger demographic to wine with their freshly built tasting room and production building. Perched on 77 acres at the highest elevation in the Willamette Valley, the construction is the culmination of Dave and Lois Cho’s journey to build a winery from the ground up.
The Chos’ youthful energy and innovative vision shine through signature events like karaoke nights and harvest parties, shaking up the wine scene. When entering the tasting room, the seamless extension of Cho’s style is palpable – their roadside signage with wood and gold accents and the minimalistic garden sets the tone. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows inside showcase stunning panoramic views of the Willamette Valley.
The design and construction team, as well as the owner and management consultant, was uniquely female-driven by Sarah Young of Open Concept Architecture, Carolina Depiante of O’Brien, Lois Cho of CHO Wines, and Jessica Cortell of Vitis Terra Vineyard Management.
The Chos also labored to preserve the estate’s grove of 200-year-old native white oak trees, some of the last of their kind in Oregon. With plans for sustainable farming and a commitment to community leadership, CHO Wines is a rising force in Oregon’s wine world.
“We tried to conceptualize a space that reflected both our wine’s elegance and approachability. It’s not uncommon to see us pairing four-year-old tirage sparkling wines with Filipino Brunch and Korean fried chicken at one of our food-centric events or karaoke nights.”
