This winery construction in McMinnville, Oregon, is a Design-Build collaboration between O’Brien & Company and Open Concept Architecture.

Both teams worked hard with Celestial Hill Vineyard owners Chris and Melissa Thomas on the construction of a production facility and barrel storage cave worthy of the beautiful land they call home.

As the build site is on the owner’s home property, strong and open communication has been the key to success in this project. It is our utmost goal to achieve the high quality of design, craftsmanship, and construction to match the Thomas’ vision for the future of their winery.

The McMinnville winery construction includes personal touches such as a finished loft space for private tastings and a personal bathroom, which have elevated the project beyond the necessities of simple storage.

Carved into the hillside with the use of lock+load retaining walls, the barrel storage cave is a vast 96 feet long with a 12 foot ceiling at its highest point, constructed with a mix of precast and poured concrete for maximum durability and climate control.
