Each year on November 11, we observe Veterans Day, a time to honor the brave Americans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This day is dedicated to recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who have defended our nation, both in times of war and peace.
The holiday was first celebrated as Armistice Day in 1919, to mark the end of World War I. This was a conflict that reshaped the world and inspired a hope for lasting peace. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to honor all American veterans, past and present. It stands as a moment of unity and gratitude, as communities across the country come together to thank those who served.
What began as a commemoration of peace has grown into a broader reflection on service and the continuing contributions of veterans in our communities. Veterans Day reminds us that freedom and security come at great personal cost, and that those who have served deserve not only our respect and recognition, but also our ongoing support. Our veterans’ commitment to something greater than themselves continue to strengthen our workplaces, our families, and our nation.

Today is about honoring all who have served, those who have fought to preserve the important values of peace, democracy, and individual freedom that we hold so dearly in this country. Today we take a moment to remember that those freedoms are never to be taken for granted, for as much as they have become engrained in our ways of living, they were born of the dedication, sacrifice, and courage of all our veterans.
At O’Brien, we are deeply grateful to the veterans who are part of our team, and to all who have served across our communities and beyond. Your service inspires us every day, reminding us that the values we strive for in our work are the very same values that uphold our country.
On this Veterans Day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all veterans — past and present — for your service, your strength, and your enduring impact.
Thank you for your bravery, your sacrifice, and your contributions — both in uniform and in our daily lives.
