Employee Spotlight: Greg Pitts

Greg is great choice to spotlight for the O’Brien team mainly due to his tenure at the coast in general. His knowledge and skill level have steadily increased over the years. Greg’s knowledge of building is firmly rooted in the best practices that are required during the assembly of lasting structures here at the coast. It has been a pleasure to work alongside Greg for the last year and a half.

Greg not only exemplifies our core values but also exhibits integrity in many ways. Cutting corners is just not an option with Greg, which is why I trust his instincts. We communicate daily regarding the projects we share. When an unusual problem arises we often attack it together, whether on-site or scribbling on a white board, the solution always reveals itself.

I see high end residential projects being run with efficiency and ease in Greg’s future. The foundation is there, we just need to support him and supply a constant flow of great projects and clients to hone his abilities.

Q&A with Greg

I’ve always enjoyed building things. I especially enjoy building houses and hotels. I like to seeing the progression of the projects from beginning to start.

I love O’Brien and everyone I work with as well as the subs. I also enjoyed being promoted to a superintendent because it’s a challenge and I’m constantly learning. I’m very happy at work.

Dooger’s new bar, Iggy’s, turned out wonderfully. I built a life-long relationship with the owner. I like the artwork that was installed on the project and the upstairs open seating. The countertop also turned out really nice. Check out their Instagram for photos. It’s a really cool spot in Seaside.

I work out of the Cannon Beach office or the jobsite. It’s closest to my projects and where I live. I’ve lived in Nehalem my whole life. My first project for O’Brien was actually in Nehalem.

Wandering the woods in my dirt bike. I also like Lost Lake aka Soapstone lake off highway 53 loop hike.

Be a good communicator. It makes the projects go smoother. I talk with subs on the phone in addition to email/schedule so we are all on the same page.

Going camping with my kids at Cook Creek campground. I look forward to it every year.
