“I’ve worked with Derick since he started here at O’Brien about 3 years ago. We’ve worked together closely on a lot of projects, most recently finishing up the Allred Hotel, and now we’re working together on the OSU High Ground Housing in Newport.
What makes Derick a great choice for a spotlight is that he really cares, about the people around him and the project he’s working on, everything. He always does everything to the fullest, that’s one thing I really respect about him. He’s very reliable and trustworthy. He’s never afraid to get his hands dirty or put his bags on and build something himself if needed. If you have Derick’s back, he’ll have yours.
Derick’s never afraid to communicate what needs doing. He’s a collaborative force in that way. He’s always looking for solutions, which is what makes a great superintendent, and he’s willing to sit down and work out the details for as long as it takes to make sure the job gets done right.
Derick has already proven that he can take on O’Brien’s biggest and most complex projects and be successful at it, so he’s going to continue to be a valuable asset at this company as a senior superintendent. He’s had a long career in this industry, and it’s no wonder that he’s made it to where he is today.”
